Kirti Bhadresa is an author living in Calgary, Alberta (Treaty 7). Kirti has fiction and non-fiction writing in The Fiddlehead, Prairie Fire, Short Edition’s dispensers, The Sprawl, Thin Air Magazine, The Quarantine Review, and Room Magazine.

Kirti's first book, a short story collection entitled An Astonishment of Stars, was published by ECW Press in 2024. The book was a 49th Shelf 2024 book of the year, a 2025 Alberta Fiction Award finalist and was longlisted for a 2025 Giller Award.

With grant funding from Canada Council for the Arts, Alberta Foundation for the Arts and the Calgary Arts Development Association Kirti continues to work on subsequent fiction projects.
